This sort of short format tournament drags up scenarios you don't see much, but what happens to NRR if some play occurs, but the minimum 20 over requirement for a result is not met?
If NRR applies, you could have a scenario where one team with 10 wickets and only 20 overs to bat wracks up a 10 an over without finishing their bowling, and then gets an impenetrable tie-break barrier against anyone else.
And on the flip side, imagine if one team comes out to bat, is bowled out for 50 runs, and then it rains..... and then they qualify courtesy of NRR even though they registered one of the lowest NRRs ever that was disregarded.
