Spin cutting through the Yorkshire batting. 200 lead isn't enough I don't think.

Since that wonderful final afternoon run chase by Middlesex last year - after which, as I understand it, is when Somerset decided to preparing big turning wickets - the fourth innings scores have been:

136 (defeat), 152 (defeat), 215 (defeat), 257-2 (victory), 168 (defeat)

If Rafiq and Carver turn up, you should be fine.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

It /is/ the highest innings of the match. But Somerset have the stronger spinners.

No one likes to go into the last innings without 350+ in the bank, whatever the history. But sure, it's better than it looks.

Samit not so often in the runs these days.

Somerset 49-4. And nothing for the spinners yet. Rafiq and Carver could have had a bowl off here.

If Somerset and Lancashire can both win here, Hants will have had a good week without playing

Shame there will be a result in the Essex-Surrey game

25 to win,3 wkts to fall, new ball due. My money's on Yorkies.

That's the way Somerset's CC season is going at the moment. If they were hunting for the title, you could be pretty certain they'd have scored another 4 runs.

They take next week off, so they could potentially return to action (in the day-night round of matches) some way adrift. Although that does rely on the Champions to finally get their season going.

(Great opportunity for Essex to continue their somewhat surprising title charge at home to Warks next week. Together with a Hants-Lancs head-to-head amongst the chasing pack)

Some of the Somerset faithful think the final wicket was a bump ball!
