I understand the reason why it happens but that doesn't make it any less sad for the lad. It's all very well to say Bairstow will only play a couple of games but he's only a few innings away from a battle with Buttler for the test gloves. I think it's an open secret that Bayliss would love to see Buttler in the test eleven. I should imagine wicketkeepers getting fed up with being the bridesmaid at their club is the main reason for them seeking a county that values them more highly. You rarely get international recognition as a stand in player.
