Lol looks at the supposedly weak tail add 186 runs on average since 2016 and add more runs than the strong england tail.
Don't the likes of Athers or Nasser even do research.
Considering in recent times, India been using Ashwin more at number 6, can only remember 1 and half test and 3 test against NZ where they changed that tactic with Rohit coming in, but it is pretty obvious that if Rohit failed or get injured Ashwin would bat in the top 6 with them bringing in another bowler either pandya or Mishra.

3 test in Sri lanka, 2 test in WI, 1 Test against england.
so it is literally 50-50 of india using 5 bowlers or not.

Run rate just a dribble must be playing to use up time, wonder why. Strange, after lunch Stokes was throwing his bat now this last hour he's playing with caution.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Will we bat out, or look to declare just after tea?

I think we get the message..... India's tail isn't as weak as everyone seems to be suggesting!

can't see them declaring closer to 500. they be batting till all out or slogging to get out.
massive wicket for india.
might be a odd session for england, not really moving the game along and only really taking time out of the game, although that is what england probably want though.

india got a slim chance of winning if england all out for 550 though, especially with at least 1 or 2 days of good batting deck available still.

Haven't a clue, I don't know much about the batting capabilities of Shami, Yadav or Mishra. Jadeja is a potentially decent number 8.

15 runs from the last 10 overs.

We probably aren't going to get a better opportunity to win a test in this series

Well mishra scored 70 odd in england during the 2011 tour and averages 20 odd in test and is a decent batsman for a bowler, batting actually improved lately as well.

Stats wise, England's tail looks better. BUT, we are playing in India, which levels it out.

Broad averages over 20 and has a top score of 169, but we all know that since his facial injury he has become a solid number 10/11.

I think the India tail is magnificent, glorious, the strongest in the world. Although their stats this year are rather sub standard as the table shown on Sky showed.

True, but he's a very good number 11.
