Yes, a good morning session.

If you are listening to the commentary you may have heard my name on air ....

"...and Peter Agius, who spells his name slightly differently from The Ageas Bowl, says he can hear us OK, ..."

Fame at last!

When was the last time we had three centurions in the same innings?

Cheers Haggis, thought it might have been a while ago.

I guess that would be the equivalent of an early Xmas for us tomorrow. (Middlesex and Yorkshire having good days tomorrow would also be useful, but not as important)

Declared 253 ahead.

2 or 3 wickets now would make this a great prediction from you Brendy!

Didn't quite get that last bit, but cannot complain. What a brilliant day with the bat.

That said, if the wicket has indeed gone flat, then we're going to need an even better day tomorrow. Taking 10 wickets in what, 85 overs, is going to be very tough. (Might be 75 overs, might be 90 overs. All depends on how many Surrey score. But they're not going to score slow enough to give us the full 96)

st_brendy wrote:After just one day, I think the updated table looks like:

Warks 156
Lancs 153
Durham 151
Hants 138
Notts 119

Lancs won't move from 153 over the next three days, due to not playing. Whilst Warks will either stay on 156, or jump up to 172. Still bonus points, and ether draw points or win points, up for grabs for rest of us. If we take, say, three more bonus points (one bowling, two batting) and add in five draw points, that's 146. Potentially just 10 behind Warks therefore, with one game left -which is less than the difference between a draw and a win.

(We'd be even closer to Lancs, and potentially Durham too, but with both sides still to play again next week first)

If Notts win and Durham lose, the table will look like this is we draw:

Warks 156
Durham 154
Lancs 153
Hants 148
Notts 137

And if we win:

Surrey 170
Hants 159
Warks 156
Durham 154
Lancs 153
Notts 137
(With Durham v Surrey, Warks v Lancs, and Hants v Durham all still to come!)

You probably have to say that these days, he is Mr Hampshire:

A second Great Escape, according to Ervine, after the illness of Michael Carberry, the injuries of all and sundry, and the departure of Dale Benkenstein, would "top any season I've ever been involved with Hampshire. Given all that's gone on, staying up would feel like winning the Championship."

Hi all, it's been a while!

Great day for us today, shame we couldn't have nicked a few wickets at the end. Surprised how late the declaration came though. Let's hope there's some overcast conditions tomorrow, as the pitch doesn't seem to be offering us much help.

Comparisons with last year with one match to go...

2015
7 Sussex 157 then Yorks v Sussex 4 pts to finish on 161 and 8th relegated
8 Hants 141 then Notts v Hants 22 pts to finish on 163 and 7th survived
9 Worcs

2016 (likely to be...)

7 Warks 156 then Warks v Lancs .......
8 Hants 148 then Durham v Hants ......
9 Notts

Let's just hope the weather doesn't come into the equation.
