Yeah he's gone back, he hasn't had a great season to be fair and I'm glad critchely will gey more overs but the seamers are knackered we have a tiny squad and the schedule at the back end of the season is brutal

The Oval seems to be a shambles this year. I think there's only been one 300 score there since early June. I can't help but think that a string of high scoring draws in April and May prompted them to prepare bowler friendly pitches to force some results. Just about successful enough, because squeaking a 1 wicket win v Yorks in a match with desperately low scores, has probably saved them from a very real danger of the drop

a useful and unbroken stand keeps the Yorks/Som game more evenly balanced. If Yorks can get a 200 lead, Somerset might equally implode in the chase and then crumble further under the pressure of Warks dispatching Essex inside 2 days. And under the weight of history, of course......there is presumably a reason why Somerset have never won the CC
