Poor day. And now we need Robinson to find some form.
For some reason I have a feeling we will turn this game around- which probably guarantees we'll lose it!

well that went about as badly as it could have done. Their tail doubled their team score and ours fell in a heap very quickly

Quite the performance in the last 2 sessions

There are lots of people who criticise him all the time, which I don't understand. When he takes wickets they complain he concedes too many runs and when he bowls really tightly, which he had in the previous 3 matches, they complain he doesn't have what it takes to be an attacking spinner. I've even heard them refer to him as a medium pacer

At Gloucs he took 3 of the top 4 batter's wickets, after they'd started with a 100 run opening stand, that helped wipe out any threat of resistance
v Lancs he bowled 39 overs in the match for 100 runs and scored a vital 36 to help set up that win
At Lords he bowled 47 overs for 100 runs on a road and added 28 with the bat
today he turned a finely balanced game into a resounding win with 5-13 in 10 overs

He spent the winter working really hard on his batting and it shows, with 2 late order stands, one of which won us the game. Okay, in this match it didn't come off, but before this season, the notion that we would send in Parky to see off the last 5 overs of a difficult day would have been risible

I think he's been brilliant and we look like a much more potent attack with him in it, even if he's just tying up an end and creating opportunities for the seamers. And with Parky taking over all the donkey work, Ben Raine is once more filling his boots, instead of flogging his guts out

After two seasons of struggling to bowl teams out twice.... and yes it's div 2..... it now feels as though those days are gone

Northants aren't going to win and look likely to lose, so by tomorrow, we should have a big lead at the top of div 2

Have been out today, that was a remarkable turnaround from 53-0 to a 9 wicket defeat. Parkinson has won me over, I was critical of him but he has been brilliant.
A victory to savour so maybe not the time to think about Crawley surely being due to make one of his occasional mammoth scores. Or Sam!

it'll be interesting to see if the IBR gets rested on Friday. My instinct is that we might give him a week off ahead of the T20 starting

Normally I'd think that was daft, but his numbers in the first half of last year's dribble were extraordinary, until he got injured in one of the July kookaburra rounds (probably from being bowled to death)
