I guess we can take comfort in the fact that Gould in his short time hiring managers at Bristol City, made a great choice in sticking by Nigel Pearson for so long despite them doing rubbish with a fancied side. Pearson was a great manager after all. His CV is impeccable.
Finished in CU's worst ever position since the 4 league pyramid was implemented
Sacked from Southampton after relegating them to the 3rd tier for the first time in 50-60 years
Sacked from Leicester after nearly relegating them, his replacement won the league the PL following year
Finished 11th with the favourite team for promotion at Hull
Sacked from Derby after a few days because he fell out with the board for their use of new technologies in training.
Nearly relegated OH Leuven to the amateur division when they were bookies run away favourites to win the Belgian 2nd league title
Relegated Watford
I guess it was too easy to sack him. Gould took on the challenge.
Pearson hasn't been hired in a role since.
