He came back on mid-way through the Carse over (just after I posted).....Pointless saving people for the evening session if the game is slipping away. England need to commit the reserves now and get into the underbelly. By the time its dark, if its 250-2 its academic anyway.

We were told Jacks would only be useful in this game for this very moment. Resting the bowlers as night falls.... He has sent down one over that went for 13, while England bowl their new ball attack into the ground in the afternoon.

Meanwhile in the Lions game, I see Tom Haines got a bowl again before they threw the ball at the spinner. If we are now at the point its preferred to hand the ball to a medium pace pie chucker than give the spinner a go, I have to conclude he's deemed unfit for selection?/

When he finally got a go, his 3 overs went 0-22.

England might need to make a call to Jack Leach.

Australia race to 130-1 after 21 overs as first session comes to a close ....archer probably the pick of the bowlers but they were awful that was a horror show from the bowling attack

At least Archer started off poorly, and improved. The others were pretty consistent. Archer was the only real threat.
