From 89/1 , NZ collapsed and ended up all out for 168 : Smith 3 wickets , NSB and Capsey 2 each. Worrying thing for England is that while Ecclestone came back on , and indeed took a wicket almost immediately , she then went off again without finishing her only over , and did not reappear. Ended up not really needing her today ; but in the semi I fancy she would be a huge miss.

Until I saw her play at CLS against Durham I hadn't realised quite how small Beaumont is. Tiny...... however that isn't stopping her from thumping Jess Kerr to all parts

England are in cruise control.

NZ have had some poor luck with the weather, but when you lose 4 out of 7 they can have no complaints about not qualifying. Even without the rained off matches they needed to beat England or India to qualify. They've been disappointing.

it makes no sense at all. It's had me scratching my head all summer. England batted for most of their innings thinking they had 50 overs to make a score, so having lost early wickets, they slow run scoring down with 50 overs in mind.

If there's no more rain and Pakistan have access to the same number of overs as England, but in more advantageous circumstances, then why should 113 beat 133? But seemingly it does, because I've seen county teams lose despite scoring more runs in the same number of overs as the eventual winners

Baffles me

and in a similar situation to the above, with the Bangladesh innings reduced to 27 overs, India find their 27 over target increased from 120 to 126, which is the opposite of the England Pakistan game where the target was decreased

I'm sure they just make it up as they go along

It's to do with when the rain breaks happened and the resources remaining. Normally fewer overs means a higher target if one team batted assuming 50 overs and the other knows they have reduced overs to make a target. But in the England Pakistan game, England's innings was interrupted after 25 overs, then they went back out knowing they had only 6 left to bat so could have a thrash (and did so), while Pakistan had to pace for a 31 over innings.

I think someone suggested that the number of PP overs was a factor too, although the entire 50 overs seems to be some form of PP with different fielding restrictions

They've made it all very complicated and part of me suspects they've done it deliberately, so the more opaque things are the less people are able to understand and criticise

at least they haven't gone off the field needing 22 off 2 overs and come back out needing 22 off one ball..... so..... progress!

England win toss and insert SA ... prefer to chase under lights I guess as they are unlikely to roll SA for 69 again. Ecclestone apparently fit so no change ; though SA have brought in an extra batter in Bosch. Pitch I am told is a belter...

74-0 after 14 overs...looks an absolute belter....Linsey smith gone off the boil completely in last couple of games can't find a line or length...wolvaardt looks in incredible form Brits struggling but SA have a foundation here

Astonishing innings from Wolvaardt... has just about put her team in the final , you'd think. Certainly the innings of the WC so far

320 isn't totally impossible as a target , on this belter of a strip and with dew hampering the bowlers . But the scoreboard pressure is going to be immense and it will probably take some sort of a similarly wonderful knock from Knight or Nat - along with some serious assistance from the rest. I wouldn't be putting money on them ...

Nightmare start for England! While sciver-brunt is there, there's always a chance but have to see kapp off here and not lose anymore to her

Quite the beating to win with 10 overs to spare after being in a whole world of trouble early on and with their most in form batter out injured. This win will have hurt England enough to ensure that they don't even make the final
