According to The Cricketer he's going to Lancashire but I wonder if that is the case?

If I was Balderson, I'd be livid at that. It was Lancs that sent him out there early

confirmed
he's quite lucky to get this chance, I think, given his injury record and his lack of playing time. Especially at his age

I don't think we quite knew what we wanted from Rhodes when we signed him. If we didn't know, then I'm not sure he could have known what we expected of him. Perhaps that's a little clearer now. If Bedingham departs, then he ought to slot straight into the top 3, or 4 if we want McKinney to play.
I suppose there's an argument that Gay could move to 3, he's certainly stylish enough with the bat and that might see the number of his ducks reduce. McKinney is probably more of an opener than a number 3 if you ask me. I guess the elephant in the room is that we'd have 4 lefties at the top of the order, followed by 3 righties, and that makes me think of the one day cup game v Warks, where Bamber was all over the place while he had to keep changing his lines, but once Robinson gave his wicket away and Bamber had a string of lefties to bowl at he was much more effective.
Robbo surely has to shift down the order. After a terrific first season and a half, he's followed that up with a season and a half of poor and average scores, which haven't justified the number 5 berth..... he has to be 7 surely, or he has to convert himself into an opener

They were telling me about a members meeting earlier this year with Bumble as a guest speaker and the topic of the proposed changes to the CC structure came up. Bostock gave the impression (as I'm sure he did at the ECB meeting) that his idea (and subsequent vote) for a 12 team div1 split into two had been discussed with the members first. There were some dissenting voices when he made this claim, so Bumble asked everyone (and the members suite was chocker) who had knowledge of any discusssions with members taking place to raise their hand and not a single hand went up in the room
