Another super all-round display from Rhodes but that total was never likely to be enough. Most teams will have similar issues but a weakened bowling attack means the batting unit has to fire.

I think our intentions for this comp became clear when we rested Raine and Lees

my understanding is that players not starting in 100 matches can be released back to their counties if there is no conflict with dates/team selection

McKinney and Clark didn't feature in the first round of matches, so it will be interesting to see if they are involved this weekend. My suspicion is that they'll just rot for most of this month and be in no form whatsoever when the CC resumes and we need all our players to be on their game in Sept. Knowing us, if McKinney hasn't played for weeks we'll put him straight into the CC side and leave Rhodes carrying drinks

Yes, really pleased for him. I think he should have a role to play when the CC resumes- he has loads of experience, has been a captain and might be just what we need in the high pressure games that await us.

Yes, Clark and McKinney would be much better off playing for us in August.
