It devolves back to the questions from the India tour of Australia we discussed. I still don't know what the rule is supposed to be, because 50% of umpires would have given that not out on visual evidence, 50% give it out on snicko. At no stage does he look like he hit it, there is a clear gap in the frames where the sound was registered....but then again, the umpire is right to follow the protocol and give it not out, because the finding of "fact" from snicko overrules his other observations.
Snicko has given us a rule no one can work out how to apply, and a piece of technology that makes up its own realities. Can we please bin this giant turd ???
People will still insist on arguing with me a sound was registered, so its clearly an edge.... but I am not sure one of my signature rants on snicko is of interest to anyone.
