Well, we're definitely on top on this final day. It's just a question of whether we can winkle them out or whether they'll successfully drop anchor. They did bat deep into their first innings. With Warks 126-5, still 200+ behind, we should at least have taken one of the three results out of the equation

Kai Smith only debuted against us last week. Two big scores for the match... might be a talent on our hands here. Kept well v us also

sub-optimal start to the season

we can't afford to lose wickets in clusters, the way we have in the first two matches

I guess Bedders is a doubt for the Yorkshire game, but there a few in the side who need to buck their ideas up quickly

Disappointing defeat and there are a few problems to say the least. A brilliant last day though with so many twists,great advert for 4 day cricket.
Bedingham I think has a broken toe.

I remember Ryan Campbell saying that we would always play a front line spinner. I wonder what excuses he won't make after today?

I haven't even looked at the table yet this season.... I haven't dared. I'm guessing we are either bottom or just above Worcestershire

seemingly Rhodes messed up a fairly simple run out today by throwing to the wrong end, I think when Barnard (101) and Booth (40) were in their 48 run 7th wicket partnership

He's not had a very auspicious start to his Durham career. If it can be *modded* up, he has *modded* up. Virtually no runs, virtually no wickets, dropped catches, messed up run outs, expensive bowling

not a great look

It will be interesting to see if he gets promoted up the order closer to his more usual position should Bedingham not be fit for the Yorkies on Friday

I went down after lunch wondering if we'd wrap it up before tea- so naturally we didn't take a wicket between lunch and tea!
It's been a poor start to say the least but I still enjoyed watching it play out, small margins but there are a few too many injuries and a few too many struggling for form.
If Bedingham is missing against Yorkshire- and I think he will be - would Clark come back....or could we bring in Borthwick!

I suspect we'd move Rhodes up and bring Clarky in at 7. Then again Ackers did great at 4 v Notts, so maybe Rhodes will stay at 6

I'm still not sure why we effectively played 5 seamers in this game. Poor old George had to field for 2 innings without ever being able to get his hands on the ball

We haven't got a front line spinner -never had one since IDB That's what the precise problem is.
