I see headlines like "makes no sense"

au contraire.... if in the interval, you are allowed to replace a batsman and part time medium pacer with a snarling fast bowler who may know which end of the bat to hold, then it makes all the sense in the world. The best bit of advice I could think of to give to England would be...... don't hit a batsman with 50 runs under his belt on the head with a short ball in the final over. It's amazing how often they are able to continue in the innings before discovering in the interval that they suddenly aren't fit to continue anymore..... and he may not have been, of course, so don't give them the opportunity in the first place

Jadeja the batting allrounder is struggling with hamstring during India's batting innings and looks like he might not be able to bowl. Conveniently fends one into his helmet in the last over, is apparently fine to smash multiple boundaries in the last over, then in the break it turns out he has 'concussion', and an allrounder who's 4th/5th bowler is replaced with a frontline spinner who takes 3/25 and POTM...

Like for like my @rse. Blatant cheating in my book. But of course the match referees kowtow to the BCCI.

it's the nature of sporting competitiveness, I suppose. Introduce any well meaning rule in any sport and immediately teams will look to see how it can be used to garner an advantage.
