Overall Top 5

1. Travis Head - 239 - Seemingly the only thing stopping Travis Head's dominance over the last section of the year is his own groin. He has now scored 579 points over the last three Tests. One more Test in him this year.

2. Babar Azam - 187 - Has seemingly been on the cusp of being out in the wilderness over the last few months but came back with a bang this week with 2 decent scores out of three games.

3. Steve Smith - 145 - Undoubtably a bad year for Smith but ends with a century and a third place score for the week. Next week is likely to be his last foray on these Lists.

4. Ravindra Jadeja - 117 - Another one of the weeks where he surprised with the bat rather than with his normal bowling prowess. Only 17% of his points came from bowling this week.

5. Daryl Mitchell - 114 - Bags his 4th 3 figure score in his last 5 active weeks. Even those 617 points haven't seem him get any higher than 18th place.

Overall Top 5

1. Chamari Athapaththu - 4681 - Inactive this week and the lad is now down to 167. Tight.

2. James Vince - 4514 - Such is the slow burn of the BBL, that Vince has only played a solitary game and eaten only 60 points into the gap on 1st.

3. Travis Head - 4125 - Is averaging 193 points per Test and is 389 points adrift of second place.....is going to fall just outside the Top 2 for the year. The bronze position is certainly his though as he is 556 points above 4th.

4. Phil Salt - 3569 - Inactive this week but holds onto 4th by just 79 points.

5. Babar Azam - 3490 - Reclaims the fifth place position he lose a month ago thanks to the ongoing inactivity of Sam Curran who has held that position for the last three weeks.

Other Mover

In a low scoring week, Rachin Ravindra's 62 was enough to see him finish 6th and also saw him overtake Moeen into 11th.

Top Three Averages

1. Chamari Athapaththu - 167.18
2. Jos Buttler - 140.05
3. Ravindra Jadeja - 129.16 (Down from 129.67)

Travis Head's weekly top score sees his average improve by 3.56; he now averages 125 points a week. Labuschagne moves down the most, down 3.9 to 118.36.

And I think that knock makes James Vince the best Cricketer of the Year.....not to boast but that's two years in a row that I've picked the COTY.

Just need to figure out a good partner for them too.

Had a game on Sunday too

Am also slightly mindful of the fact Athapaththu washed up in the Super Smash over in New Zealand last year.

No news of such this year but coverage of that is patchy at very best

Was going to do a regular Friday blog today but realised it would only include Vince, Hardie and Azam's ODI.

Might as well wait for the final reckoning on NYE where we have Aaron Hardie and Moeen Ali playing in two T20 games in Australia and Bangladesh neither of whom are going to overly bother the top ten but Moeen's points might dictate who out of RDJ and DFM finish third.

Considering I joined last picking from the dregs of what was left, I am quite happy with being an innings away from 2nd place.

With all the stupidity of Indian selectors and thinktank , Yashasvi still managed to score good points. :clap

I doubt the selectors and thinktank will get smarter this year as well. But hoping that he will score well again inspite of all the rubbish things yet again.
