Been a week for Cricket surprises , eh ? All the Big Guns knocked out in the Women's WC , Pakistan suddenly going from bunnies to conquerors and now NZ giving India the horrors on their own turf...

Home team doing a bit better than 46 all out this time around ; but two down and still 261 behind doesn't look too promising...

After conceding a 350+ run lead to NZ, India have managed to wipe that out with only 3 wickets los

It will be a real turn up should they manage to scrape a win here.t

India now lead by 52 runs. Can 2 specialist batsmen + Jadeja and Ashwin and tail give a target of 150. Atleast innings defeat was avoided after a terrible perfromance in first batting innings.

India must have an outside chance from here, so long as one of Ashwin and Jadeja hang around to near the close.

Wow, 7-54 for NZ at the end when they must have been on their knees. Still a bit to do though...

NZ end a long 36-year wait as they beat India in India for the first time since 1988.

Was a good fightback by India after that dreadful first innings and conceding a huge lead. Some outstanding batting from Sarfaraz and Pant (always fun to watch !) but after their late order was blown away it was always unlikely they could stop NZ running down the target . Bumrah and Siraj bowled very well and made life difficult for the NZ bats with the new ball but Ravindra steered them home pretty comfortably in the end . Looked a bad call at the toss , in retrospect : but apparently NZ were also intending to bat first had they the option ... so maybe no one is much good at judging a pitch in advance :)

Lot of interest now for the remaining two games . You'd think India will come back hard : they certainly won't want to give up that unbeaten home series record after 12 years !
