Might not need to pull out at this rate..... but a 95th minute equaliser gives them some hope.

Another match settled at the death, another match that could have gone either way. Can't remember an international tournament in any sport with the quality of play and entertainment being on par with this. Been an absolutely epic week of football....

Level at HT is probably more than England deserved on that display. If they keep giving the ball away in midfield they are really dicing with death...need to lift a lot in the second half.

When England are out of possession, they go defensive, and don't play the forward press. He said Kane in particular has lost pace, and is therefore ineffective in a forward press, when all strikers need to do it together.

The success of Manchester City has a lot to do with their forward press.

Apparently Southgate blamed the fact that Phillips is so irreplacable for the side looking terrible.

I guess the favourite for the Ballon D'Or wasnt good enough to replace a man who was seen so little in a Man City shirt, the security guard wouldn't let him in the building not knowing who he was.

To be honest, I personally really enjoyed the match. Its so rare to be treated to such tactical innovations by a master at the top of his game. The footballing world, the BBC with its crappy pundits, and everyone on social media might laugh now, but in 25 years time when everyone else catches up to Southgate's once in a generation mind, who will be laughing???

We have seen the future, and it is bolting your backline so deep the keeper can't see over them, having your forwards stand around not pressing, then instruct your two midfielders to press the ball hard with no co-ordination......

Most idiots would assume that would just allow teams to work the ball deep into your half, then exploit the canyons of space left in the centre between those pressing forward, and those miles behind completely immobile... But they would be an idiots who probably never got close to relegating a club before....

I have seen the future, and it is Southgate-ball....
