Pro's and Con's to the selection.....If he plays alongside Rice it means he can free up, foden and bellingham whilst having some sort of protection infront of the back four.....however if he does play it shows we have a big hole in midfield, god forbid Rice picked up an injury

We werent good under Keegan, but that group was pretty tough. Portugal had arguably the best player of the time (Figo) and some other really class players, and we beat Germany for the first time in an age. We would have qualified from a really tough group (Romania used to be a pretty good team as well) if it wasnt for Phil Neville being a total dipsh*t and conceded a needless penalty at the end.

Shaw has missed the entire season for Manchester United, more or less. How fit is he to play 90 minutes?

I think England have some worrying weaknesses in defence.

Sending my best wishes to our Northern brothers. A very tough match to start, it could get ugly, but I think Scotland should be good value like back in 1998.

there was a time when top quality England centre backs were as common as world class English 1500m runners. The runners are coming back, but not so the centre backs

Southgate style.

Midfield pushed to the centre circle on a high intensity press with no shape, defence pushed back to the box in a rigid line. This is football 101 guys.... Inbetween you have an area equivalent of Hyde park for German midfielders to run into.

If you want to defend, then squeeze the space between the lines and your midfield presses outwards the return.
