I'll be surprised if he's allowed unless that league has changed its rules. Didn't they bar Colly from turning out for Shotley Bridge whilst he was still a player?

Marty admitted to being surprised that we elected to bat first, given that this is a brand new strip that no-one has played on before. I think he felt that the safer option might have been to have a bowl first. Fortunately it seems to have been the right call on what is, after all, a beautiful sunny day for batting. Sometimes you do have to look up instead of down, even at the Riverside in April
