I think so.

Not so sure. I think ECB reneged on that last year prior to the tournament being cancelled. Don't think there'll be many overseas for the Hundred anyway; see soon, draft 23rd Feb.I think

You're probably righf, I didn't know they'd made the change.

Gareth Harte is leaving and going back to South Africa. Seems as if he pursuing a career outside cricket. A shame because I thought he was a pretty useful player.

Strange one given he'd just signed a new contract. Thought he'd finally established himself with some gritty displays in 2020 Bob Willis Trophy

I had a quick look at the list of players on the club site, which has been updated at some stage over the winter to reflect the players that have departed or been released

Bancroft is still on that list.

Now it might be that they still have to reach some sort of agreement ahead of the new season, but it does suggest that they are hopeful/expectant of his return

Sounds as if it's touch and go regarding spectators and the start of the season. There's speculation that a couple of football finals- end of April and mid-May - have been pencilled in as the start of opening up sports grounds.
There's still a suggestion that bars that have outside areas may open in April which could lead to a truly farcical situation of people being allowed to sit outside the pub in the ground but not be able to either sit in the stands or watch the live stream inside the pub!

I also read a confusing story about how- if the ECB aren't confident spectators will be allowed to attend the T20 as currently scheduled they could move it to later in the season and cancel the later rounds of the Bob Willis Trophy! That would go down well! Although I think that scenario is highly unlikely because it sounds as if the grounds will be open well before the T20 is scheduled to begin.

Yes, club are currently advertising T20 v Yorkshire july 11th with a possible ballet for tickets because of social distancing. Just been along the coast, car parks packed and promenade and parks far busier than the Riverside ground on T20 games-as no doubt will the park adjacent to the ground.
Pretty certain limited crowds will be permitted to T20. There's also,of course, an ODI and a Michael Buble concert scheduled.

I'm not expecting spectators at the start of the season, but I am hopeful for later in the year. I have to be hopeful.... I'm trying hard not to think about a scenario where we are asked to donate our subs again

If The Times has it right-and the article says discussions are taking place but decisions haven't been made- they're going to start the reopening with high profile sports events and then work backwards, so if they do have people in for one or both of the football finals it'll be a case of how quickly they proceed with the rest.
There have also been a few stories suggesting the overall covid strategy now is to underpromise and overdeliver with hints that things in general could move more quickly than the noises from government suggest. Time will tell!
