it has ever been thus. A younger player showing good form risks being called up into the international team or some sort of development team which then means they miss chunks of the domestic season. Bad enough in a large pool like the 18 team county championship, but even more pronounced in a small pool like the 6 team Shield. Only the fogeys who have been there, done that, and been tossed away by CA represent decent value to the discerning fantasy leaguer
