Looks like Leics v Sussex will need some declaration jiggery-pokery in order to get a result, but the other games are heading for a conclusion. Perhaps Middx and Hants might have a languid eye on a possible draw.

 I was going to say things can't get any worse for him ...but he wasn't out first ball in either innings so they can!

I assume this was sarcasm, but it does amuse me to have read coverage of the CC, London Marathon etc. over the last few days, and seeing the UK being described as in a 'heatwave' and 'scorching temperatures' for a few days in the low-mid 20s...

It's probably journalistic licence rather than sarcasm but temperatures were exceptionally high for mid-April and many experienced international runners were affected by it

Excellent win for the Yorkies and 10 wickets in the match for Coad.

Yes. And if Yorks get a crack with JB and Root, it might be they can make themselves relegation proof in the spring section of the season.

Patterson to come back too.

Looks like Middx and Hants aren't trying to block their way to a draw, looking at their SRs.

Hampshire, Gloucestershire and Middlesex all 8 down and on the verge of defeat. Middlesex also have injury worries with Roland-Jones unable to bowl at all during the second innings , Harris injured after 6 overs and Tim Murtagh inky able to get through 10 overs. Apparently ( assuming they get there ) it will be a first home win for Derbyshire since September 2014.

Still 8 down in all 3 of those matches. Could one or more get a draw? Almost certainly not but Gloucestershire have a 50 run lead.

Middx just lost a wicket. It was starting to look interesting.

Hants showed some fight before going down.
