With immediate effect! Musn't want a relegation on his final CV.
Hard times at Edgbaston, like the Yorkies -ageing team and massive debt.
Surely Ashley Giles realised what he was walking into?

Our guys were suggesting it was like playing with the balls used in the indoor nets bowling machine.

Chris Rushworth, who has played with the pink ball a couple of times in Abu Dhabi, said that the pink ball goes flat once it has scuffed up, which I suspect is why Worcs, in their innings at Durham, decided to promote pinch hitters to the top of the order to try and beat the devil out of the ball as early as possible, so that batting becomes much easier, much earlier.

Yes that was exactly my line of thinking so all credit to Worcs for being so perceptive. Whether they'd have, adopted those same tactics had they'd batted 1st without the knowledge of how extravagantly the ball behaved during the early part of the Durham inns however is questionable. Yet further evidence of the unfairness of the present coin toss ruling.
