This partnership putting yesterdays effort into context

If only root was willing to work this hard for his runs

He'd average 64 not 54

When wickets are falling as they were you can't be holing out at long off that's a disgrace

As our best player by a country mile he needs to be more ruthless when he gets to 30 and convert into more hundreds

yep especially when you are probably the only batsman in the team likely to average 50 plus on these wicket and best suited to score a massive century, although suppose Cook might say he got a claim as well on these conditions especially with the ball not turning big and just having some turn.

Given his average in india then cook would be pretty justified in thinking that

yep hopefully Root never plays a shot like that again in india, when the ball doing things in india or looking way more difficult, Asia the number 1 place in the world where you just never give your wicket away especially when 3 or 4 wicket can go down straight away.
most likely batting will get easier, especially in the morning session.

One of rashid or Ansari has to make a score

TBH think the game was over when Root got out or hameed run out.
they only really playing now just so they can prove nothing wrong with the pitch lol.
Suspect england could do with woakes now with the ball and bat considering Broad out injured.

Guessed approx 125 run lead yesterday, but now it seems it could be more. This test is going better than i expected.

England wasted toss in first test, however we haven't as we are clear favorites now.

It's unlikely that Kohli will enforce the follow on with the pitch playing so easily and the added bonus of Broad being injured. A lot will depend on how this innings progresses, a relatively quick mop up of the remaining wickets is what India need. However with the pitch being so docile Rashid and co should be able to score runs and make life difficult for India. A gritty performance by the remaining batsmen and this game may yet be saveable.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

What an awful blog article.
http://www.thefulltoss.com/england-cric ... ment-39826
"Although it would’ve been nice if we’d shown a bit more gumption, I’ve seen enough cricket to know that the side batting last is generally screwed once the surface starts disintegrating. In fact, I’d go as far as saying that if England had won the toss, and got bowled out for an average total of say 350 at lunch, I would’ve fancied us strongly to win – even with our spinners."
Not sure you seen much cricket either especially in asia if you writing stupid blogs and comments like that.

really wonder which planet some people live in if they think England winning the toss would make them win this game and that too england scoring 350 here.

good cameo from Rashid so far.
remind me of a broad innings really, so many boundaries but captain and bowlers think they can get him out but the same time Rashid hits some great shots and some annoying streaking boundaries.
