Rashid for me, the most defining performance of the game, can't actually remember any of the centuries but can remember rashid bowling.

What a spell that was at Mumbai

Think he was talking about Sydney.
Still have nightmares about that.

Maybe, but who knows how things would have turned out? This had draw all over it - even the late wickets giving some excitement, once India got to within 50 runs of England there was never going to be time for England to force a result unless India had an utter trainwreck.

Still, well played England. Better than most of us were expecting. Let's hope it augurs a good series, rather than India's one bad test and England's one good one. Can't imagine Rahane, Ashwin etc. staying this quiet for the rest of the series.

i cant call a MotM here, with the game ending in a draw and there being 6 or 7 good individual performances but without any of them really standing out from the rest

Think Rahane averages 24 in the first test of a series and 72 in the 2nd test a very weird stat indeed.

maybe they don't give anyone a Motm award.
although I would vote for Rashid if I was a commentator and in the panel that decides the Man of the match.

Ill admit that England were going to struggle to force a result, but until Stokes came in and hammered some runs at the end, they were batting at under 3 an over with a whole innings left.

Last night they were 150 ahead, if they knew they were going to target leaving India just over 300, then they should have aimed to hit that 150 runs in as quick as possible, and leave more overs.

In the end they wasted time batting, and lost 5 overs due to over rates.

This "could" have made the difference.

I'd probably give MOM to Cook for his second innings knock, and generally his decent captaincy during this game.

His opening partner won't be far behind with his useful contributions on debut.

I guess 7 wickets for Rashid is a good shout too.

Maybe that is the best punishment england could get for over rates, slow overs costing england the chance of a victory.
hopefully this is a wake up call for them in this series, since every over matters in india especially on a flat dead wicket.
in my opinion England are the slowest team and lethargic team in the field in the world.

Really england need a wake up call since they clearly not scared about the fines and ICC hardly take action either.
