probably the only way to get a wicket here, no reverse, no bounce, limited turn and not much uneven bounce either.

Stokes gets Pujara. Was looking all so easy for India. 8 more wickets to get though - a first innings lead for India is still very much on.

A very ordinary delivery outside off needing to be punished takes the edge from a tired looking cut shot and Stokes undeservedly gets Pujara out.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

A welcome wicket ! Good work from Cook , wider than normal at slip and no mistake with the catch.

Stokes with the magic touch...just a loosener. Now can he get after Kohli before he gets set ?

Yeah, I am sure last night they discussed the possiblity of Pujara edging into that area off a rank ball that should have been lazered to the boundary.

I mean, lets just take Cook's Captaincy.... end of day, breakthrough made, one slip in....Kohli edges a wide ball into an empty slip cordon....

Does Cook think he will take 10 wickets on this pitch with a defensive field?

As I type, Vijay hits a six.

Run rate is at 5 for the last 10 overs, they are definitely starting to hit the gas a bit more

You misunderstand. I was referring to his being wide awake for the catch despite having stood at slip foot five hours in the heat without a sniff of a chance . Not suggesting it was a cunning plan.

Apart from that though , I think Cook has actually handled his bowlers pretty well today. Not that I expect those who habitually disparage him would acknowledge that...

Fair point....

Amazing what a wicket can do. All of a sudden the ball seems to be doing more, and batting looks 5 times harder.
