Just declared at 14:22. Set Lancs 309 in 44 overs.

They might as well have a go at the start because they can always shut up shop if they lose a few wickets.

Surrey in a much better position now, if they can chase the target successfully Durham will be 14 points ahead of us, and a win for us in the final game will almost certainly take us above them.

Over to you Brendy for all the permutations next week!

Hants must win and with at least 6 bonus to survive?

They could survive with a draw if Warwickshire lose really badly.

Definitely helps Hants that Lancs and Warks play each other

WvL Draw L Win W Win
Lancs 162 5+max8 = 175 16+max 8 = 186 max 8 = 170
Warks 156 5+max8 = 169 max 8 = 164 16+max 8 = 180
Hants 148 Win+7 = 171

Warks down Warks down Lancs down

Bit easier for Hants once the others start dropping bonus points.

If Hants get a draw+7 to get to 160 then we'll need Warks to come away with only 3 points.

So whatever way you look at it we could really do with Lancs winning by a mile.

Reading that, providing Lancashire don't lose to the Bears it will be either Warks or Hampshire that go down?

I'm hopeless at working it out but I think Lancashire should be safe unless Warwickshire get max bonus points out of a draw. Brendy will know!

Actually I think you're correct MS because Lancashire are sure to get at least 1 bonus point if it's a draw and that will be enough to finish ahead of the Bears.

Looking again it might be more complicated! Maybe Warwickshire need 7 more points from a draw but that's not realistic.

Probably best summarised as Hampshire's survival being in their own hands.
Win + 6 or 7 bonus should see them home with either Warks or Lancs going down.

And from the Warks V Lancs match a draw or Lancs win will see Warks go down.
