I think his problem is mental more than technical

Probably harder to work on then technique.

Our bowlers got plenty of edges and plays and misses early on as well

The lower order made hay against an appalling spinner and some frustrated/tired seamers

Pakistan did bowl much better than they have with the new ball though

Yup

It's why Id be surprised if he ever had any success

Just like Rohit sharma he lacks the mental toughness to succeed in test match cricket

and weirdly they also suffer from a similar technical flaw which is quite ironic.
wonder if Vince will make his Technical fault worse by becoming a better one day player.

do agree with Sussex that is quite baffling how a small technical fault with these players cause huge issues yet a big technical fault in Kohli, Cook, Ballance etc doesn't effect them that much.
Even Dhawan a better Test player than Rohit Sharma and possibly Vince that saying something since I don't really rate Dhawan much.

I'm not sure vince has a technical flaw

Driving at balls that aren't full enough is a decision making problem

he got one but very small to see,
Sadly I am not the greatest at explaining technical flaws so generally have to steal Sussex or Akash chopra pieces lol.
but the way Vince plays he more susceptible to edging the ball and it isn't really that surprising he edges so many balls to the keeper although you are right in that if he stops playing the drive he will most likely survive more, although it could also mean most of his run scoring shot goes in the process.

a really good article, very small stuff but shown to be quite crucial in players scoring runs in a format and not scoring many runs in Test.
might have to see my Sky box recording if I can see any issue with Vince weight transference when he plays shots and to see if he uses his feet when driving at balls not that full.

Every player in history must have had at least one small technical flaw?

yep really if one player gets out to the same player a lot or a similar type dismissal then a technical flaw is apparent even if it is so tiny for people to see from naked eye.
TBH pakistan coaching and players will been impressive in this series.
Ali fixed flaw mid series and looked good in the later test matches and then add in Younis khan suddenly scoring 200 after probably the worst technique to be seen in Cricket.
Although Younis khan is a class player and was always likely to score at some stage but Ali could have easily failed after being worked over.

Very easy for pakistan to collapse and blame it on their technique rather than improve and fix it during the series.

Bloody hell my Sky + didn't record the live coverage on sky only recording the verdict and the highlights show which is annoying might have to watch some illegal highlights shows from the net since the highlights are longer than the sky/Channel 5 highlights.
bit a disgrace Sky stopped the 1 hour and half highlights shows.

Vince plays too often with an angled bat out side off which is the best way to edge the ball behind or play on to your stumps.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

A very clear cut situation where a player had very publicly criticising a decision and deserving of a fine. The ICC have a history of coming down on players' comments on Twitter. Very silly from Broad who is supposed to be a senior figure in the England side.

As far as over rates go, the ICC need to come up with a transparent, real time formula for how many overs are due before the end of the day. Until they do that, then there isn't going to be a great deal of progress.
