It is looking bad for Hampshire because I think the gap is 16 points, and with Sussex getting max bowling points, the only way to bridge the gap is a win for Hants, a loss for Sussex I believe. Bonus points in that situation are out the equation.I might be wrong on this though.

Lancs did.

And Northants were also promoted with them in 2013 I believe. Becoming a trend.

Sussex' second half of the season has mirrored Hants' first.

Crucial win against Worcs a few weeks back is probably the difference. Doesn't help we've played abysmally against the already relegated team in both games.

Both teams have max bowing points so the gap is still the win bonus. So the only way Hants can pass Sussex is if they win and Sussex lose and they at least match Sussex' batting points. If both teams end on the same number of points Sussex will go down as they will have lost more games.

It isn't going to happen, Sussex will be fine.

Not sure our season ever got going, our batsman have arguably got better as the season goes on, but at the start we had a fit bowling attack that ran through teams.

Its been a disastrous season, at one time there were 8 full time bowlers on the books that were injured, and Mills and Prior both effectively retired without playing any cricket right at the start. Very bad luck, a Sussex team at full fitness at the start of the year would have made a good stab at the title, just had no luck at all this season combined with our batsman losing it completely.

Going down wouldnt be the end of the world, we would pretty much destroy Division 2 with the foundation of this team.

Sussex 110 behind with four wickets in hand after a useful partnership. Yorkshire unlikely to get much of a lead, and could well be in deficit with the in form Yardy well set.

Sussex and Hants scores matching each other, which has to be at least the case for Hants. Shame the deficits don't!

Nice to see Paolo battling away. What a send off its been for him in the last few weeks.... even better if he somehow manages to score another 100 here.

Maybe he might re consider playing his last game here.

Not to be.... but looks like both Sussex and Hampshire are going to bottom out on level batting points.... both behind.

It would take something special for Hampshire to win from here, and for Sussex not to lose.....
