Sorry, whatever excuse you give, averaging 12 in a 5 match series at the start of your career indicates all I need to know about him. He was utterly rubbish, I have literally no positives. I see no reason to continue this experiment.
He's played 12 first class games this season from what I can tell, 7 of which have been Tests and 3 of which haven't been in the UK.
It's often a case when players are picked based on the previous season that they're not actually in form coming into the team.
We've seen even with very experianced players that once the form goes south it can be very difficult to get it back while playing International cricket, let alone for a player whose got so few games under his belt.
As I said above, I think Lyth needs to go back to Yorkshire and rebuild his game. I wouldn't be suprised to see him back playing for England again in the future.
