Since Yorkshire won the title the intensity seems to have gone out of their play, lets hope it carries on at the Rosebowl in the next game. Somehow I doubt it.

The hard part for Yorks in the 300 point race will be their own motivation (they only need 6 points to retain their title). When Durham romped to the title in 2010 with 2 matches to spare, they were unable to win those last 2 matches. With the title secured, Yorks might struggle to win their last 2 as well.

Another September round of games ruined by rain. No need to reduce the number of CC games to provide more rest for players, just play half the games in April/May and the rest in late Aug/Sept and the problem is solved.

Benks on Sky this morning says we shouldn't play cricket in April-too much of a lottery and is in favour of 3 division County Championship.

Benks on Sky this morning says we shouldn't play cricket in April-too much of a lottery and is in favour of 3 division County Championship.

He's South African though. He wont have the same feelings of traditional county cricket that the died-in-the-wool Englsih spectators have.
