I have a feeling that the number of LBW decisions is increasing like topsy. I wonder if it's that CC umpires have been influenced by what they see in international games with DRS is use.
If so they should remember that CC games do not give batsmen a chance to refer their decisions and probably out must be definitely out. There seem to be an increase in players getting into trouble for showing dissent that normal.

Reading between the lines it sounds like a short to medium term cashflow situation, rather than the clubs First Class future under threat. The cynic in me suggests cricinfo are starting an agenda on culling First Class counties and get popular opinion on Franchise Cricket.

If there was to be a review on First Class counties, surely Notts and Surrey should be as scrutinised as Leicestershire, Northants et al. Test counties who have the financial clout to sign players, but their track record on developing players at academy level is a lot to be desired.
