Game started on Saturday?

There was no play on day one.

Ah right

I see Kent had to play two Twenty20 games in as many days, followed by a 14hr turnover time from Kia Oval to Northampton play in the County Championship. How are the visiting side suppose to prepare and compete in these conditions?

I believe counties have an input into the T20 scheduling, was it Surrey who played a double header on a Saturday at the start of the competition. Kent probably chose for reasons of their own to the schedule of those two games.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Broad gets Lyth in the first over, after the Notts tail wags. 350 would be nice here, but without Bairstow, a bad start could be terminal.

Though Yorks do have the England number three at the crease.

Thanks Colly. If Yorks bat on, I wonder if they'll drop Hodd down the order so Bairstow can replace him in this innings. Would be a bit cruel to the present keeper. Slow going, so far.

Notts attack, with Hilfenhaus and Broad in it, has been transformed somewhat.

A fine end to proceedings after a shaky start, an added bonus of both players returning to the crease tomorrow. New ball to negotiate before Yorkshire can kick on into a dominant position.
