Yorks still look strong. Good to see Dilly come back from picking his nose in the sunshine, and make a telling contribution. If he continues to be overlooked by England, I might end up regretting not including him in my FL team (I was sure he'd get a start in the caribbean)

Tredwell opening the batting for Kent, Azharullah opening for Northants, Mark Wood at 3 for Durham. What on earth is going on?

Yorkshire wrapping things up with a fine 305 run victory over Hampshire. Far from comfortable with Will Smith and Lewis McManus

Very pleasing to see Jonny Bairstow and Adil Rashid producing match winning contributions of 102, 59 and 8-118 respectively, after spending the last month being drinks carriers to Alastair Cook's mob.

Where are Lancashires bowler these days? they are really struggling to take wickets and their batsmen are well capable of a collapse at any time.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

@TheCricketerMag: Alex Hales called up by Mumbai Indians for Indian Premier League. Loss of bat in hot form a blow for Notts. He won't be in Test squad then

I don't suppose he would have been considered for the Test squad ( although I think he should have been) but presumably Notts are ok with him jetting off to the IPL? How much longer has that competition got to run?

I might be wrong, but I believe the knockouts last 7 days, and begin on Sunday....

But being paid very lucratively for doing so.

I see that we have another one of these stupid loan deals, this time involving Luke Fletcher going to Surrey, where the player is loaned out to play Championship cricket but remains available to play t20 for their parent club.

I really wish the ECB would ban this practice. It's such a farce. Playing for Notts one day, then Surrey. Then Notts. Then Surrey.

I can see why they do it but it's a mess when there's more than one competition on.
