Lyth for Trott, but even so the current side looks balanced. Five frontline bowlers with Root as a part-time option and the batting is not compromised.

Struggle to see where Moeen will fit in the side now that Ballance, Bell, Root and Stokes are in control of their middle order places. Surely England have learned their lessons in Sri Lanka that accommodating players will only makes things worse.

rashid would be as well getting a plane home

even with tredwell being successful in this game I still maintain he shouldn't have been in the squad , his selection was a result of being in and around the England ODI squad rather than based on anything he has done in first class cricket and he was what I suppose you would call an "establishment pick"

if I was rashid I would be mightily pi$$ed off after doing what was asked of me in domestic cricket and being overlooked like this

The Windies have thrown away wicket after wicket, it's becoming a bit of a cliche, but they simply can not string together a decent day.

I hope Simmons takes the Ferguson approach to management because Blackwood, Smith and Samuels need something hard and heavy thrown at them.

Tredwell was a safe option, though understandable considering he doesn't let England down when called upon. But adding an unfit Moeen Ali to the squad adds insult to those not playing and makes a mockery of the domestic system.

As I said earlier, if Adil Rashid was Australian he'd be long playing international cricket by now and be dubbed as the next Shane Warne.
