Only the one wicket keeper signed by me. Humongous error on my part.

I've only really got the one too. A couple in there who can keep wicket, but they rarely - if ever - will.

Luckily, you don't need to play a keeper!

Ian, I'm a bit confused.

as an example:

Colly had 80k left, so once you add 800, he is left with 880, so with 14 players left to pick, that leaves him with 62.86k per player.

I had 0 left so with 800 that leaves me with 800 - and with 10 players left to get that means I have 80k per player.

Therefore, it looks like i should get first pick first, and then should probably get another few in as well - however Colly got as many as 5 players before I got my first.

It looks like something has gone wrong. Colly spent far more per player in the bidding and then has the advantage in the lottery as well - which I thought was exactly what was supposed to be avoided.

As posted earlier, the example used 800K cash from year 1.

what amount did we use this year, and how do we decide how much to use?

It still shouldn't overturn the principle that those that spent far more per player in the bidding should not get the higher rated players in the lottery

I am going to post the squads now:

Sussex my spreadsheet shows you as having only 29 players. If you notice which one is missing can you let me know? Otherwise I will pick the next person on the draft. I really do not have the inclination to reprocess everything.

The total wages of the 102 players to be allocated in the lottery divided by the amount of places to be filled.

The principle is that those who spend least in the auction get the better picks, followed by those that acquire the most players.

When it comes to the latter rounds (eg: 20K & £10k players, then I just use alphabetical order)

As Bhavesh says, the guy who runs the Football game I mentioned has extensive software, up against my one-man excel, so if there are errors it is down to me.

So from what I now read some have played with a budget of 2.12million whilst I played with a budget of 1.32million. It seems I better get used to the idea that after September I shall be stirring my tea with a wooden spoon.

Ian, if it would help I can have a crack at the excel quite quickly using those rules - I'm not bad on excel. However, I've never worked out how you cut and paste those tables from excel and get them to appear so nicely.

however, the total wages is 4.1m - but you can't divide that by 100 players because that just gives you the average cost of one player. Maybe I misunderstood you

I think that might be why players who have spent most and picked the smaller squads have ended up with the advanatge.

4.1m divided by 10 posters is 410k each. i would just add 500k so that we have longer before it gets spent and you revert to alphabetical


As is stands, Bhavesh, Colly and Powelly all spent far more per player than me and Sussex but have got all of the benefit in the lottery and that just can't be right.

TBH next year the lottery should just be scrapped.
far too complicated to run especially someone doing it manually.
Also having the lottery complicates the strategy especially when you are encouraging people to get most of their squad in the first 4 rounds.
