I wish I was good enough to be a ball-boy in Europe let alone have the ability to make a decision whether to tackle or not. I take my hat off to you.

All the momentum was with City, and his poor decision may well have changed the tie.

Yep I think that's spot on Mark, but I'm sure you will be corrected.

I like your use of the phrase 'overall sending off', I would have rated each challenge as half a booking, therefore a yellow in total.

Well I'm obviously not good enough, hence being on here, but from the outside looking in, I'd say it was a needless attempted tackle.

The ref was all over it like calamine lotion on body covered in chicken pox. I liken it to a glass half full as to a glass half empty. He was a glass half empty sort of ref for City and a glass half full for Barca. Not saying any refs in Europe have ever been caught cheating. Not to mention the impeccable integrity of FIFA and UEFA.

Indeed, and actually refs who dont produce a second booking on the "half a card" rule produce those inconsistencies that any fans so much. Had he not booked him, a lot of people would have felt it was a missed red (me included).....

It is soft, but I thought it was a yellow, he had to go regardless of the first foul

I would go further and say his general 1-1 finishing isnt brilliant, but he makes 4 times the chances of any other footballer on a pitch

Yeah, i hate people who say Ronaldo is better than Messi just because he has a few more goals. Forgetting that Messi is actually the best playmaker in the world as well as being a top goalscorer.

Not sure if the Clichy tackle was a yellow. Could have went either way but i certainly don't have a problem with it being a yellow.

The way Barcelona play they produce more referring decisions about contact on players, and they have much more possession, hence more fouls

I think its an obvious point. The team that has 70% possession draw more fouls, hence ask more of the referee?
