I think England will definitely be in top 4 from this group. Very tough for Bangladesh, Aghanistan and Scotland to beat them. I won't rule out a semis too if they meet Pakistan or WI in QF.

Or India.

England look likeliest to finish fourth in their group, given some good teams in there. Which would mean SA.

Morgan says that if England play as well as they have in the last six months, they can beat Australia.

But England have been terrible in the last six months.

So has Morgan.

England have been terrible for 2 years

so has Morgan

still............. England have been concentrating for 4 years on developing a WC winning strategy, based around a stable, high performing side.......... so expect a stellar campaign from them. A poor performance would indicate that they'd been wasting their time for the last 4 years, and that surely isn't likely, given the quality leadership at the top.

My faint hope lies with the Aussies winning in 1987.Not long before we swept them and the West Indies aside, winning two, yes two ODI trophies on the 86-87 tour to Australia. We may finish fourth, but something normally goes awry in competitions, and South Africa losing to one of the test sides in the groups is likely.

I was living in Adelaide that year and from memory we had a tripple header, I think the Windies were involved. Very quiet at the ground and Botham opened with Tavere. I think Botham got out for 63 and Tavere was still on 2 or 3. England were on fire that summer.

I then went to Perth for the Americas Cup, and they had a special Tourney on there which England also won.

The second tourney was for the Americas Cup. I think it was all held in Perth.

Maybe they were trying to sell the game to the Americans.
