Australia/England/India Tri Series Jan/Feb 2015

Though typical of the England players this knock. They all do enough in turn to keep their place in the team, but not enough to win games. Ravi is typical of that, 40 off 35 at the end of the innings to fall just short.

So Broad gets booed immediately on entering the pitch.

Bit poor. But theatrical.

I think scoring 111 is a tad more than "just doing enough" to keep his place in the team , considering he has scored half the total by himself

My guess is public choice Bell first then Ravi.

Others are safe until these two are there.

But in the context of his last couple of years, it's not much.

Same as Bell's 180. It's good in isolation, but none of this makes England a winning side.

All out. Shame we didn't see a six from Broad.

its nothing like bell's 180 , that was in a warmup match against a weak side and he did it from opener with other people scoring runs around him on what was a very flat pitch, morgan has done this with wickets falling all around him, under pressure and on a worn pitch

I agree that Englands problem is they do not play well on same day.Joe is brilliant in one others flip,Moeen brilliant in one match others flop,Morgan brilliant in one others flop. Its uselesd such one good innings in one match. Need atleast 3-4 to click on same day unless someone is scoring a Rohit double.Even his double needs another contribution.

No,I know the weren't similar innings. But they are linked in terms of reaction. Bell got a lot of overheated press for that. Morgan is getting a reaction which isn't placed in context of a long struggle, for this knock. Supporters will pick out advantageous stats to justify their place in the side. But as an XI they usually lose.

England need to be careful. They only have 3 hundreds in them, so they don't want to use them all up before the world cup even starts.

Looks like a good knock from Morgan (does he still sit on the toilet when batting?), but still can't lift England to even a half decent total.

I have no idea about the pitch or overheads, but instinct tells me that 234 won't be nearly enough.

I hope I'm wrong
