Cook's not in at all. Morgan isn't an ideal replacement but we'll see how he goes.

Cook's not in at all. Morgan isn't an ideal replacement but we'll see how he goes.

That's too bad, never understood why they sack the captain and the player at the same time. Surely he deserves a chance in the warm up games to see if he can regain his form.

A tricky one but his form with the bat was so bad that it would be unfair to other players who were in form at the time.

A clean break was the right thing to do IMO.

He was poor in both but his captaincy was probably affecting his batting.

Well that's probably true, though Moores is always saying what a demon he is in the dressing room. Certainly the bit we can see, on the field. It was good to see the Kiwi's playing SL, as there is a completely different feel to watching them in the field. Watching England under Cook was an experience of dread, made of escalating futility and panic. Watching McCullum, it seemed there was a narrative out in the middle, much as there was for England when Vaughan was skipper.
