They did commit two different offences, though I see what you're saying.

Hughes killed someone after drinking and getting behind the wheel, then driving off to avoid a breath test.... I would say, if anything, that is far worse!!

For some reason the good old British public have decided that Ched Evans is a much bigger villain and should pay for the rest of his days.

I don't think I can remember the media making a fuss over Lee Hughes return.

I think there was but it seems witch-hunting has grew in popularity. Not that I'm excusing what Hughes or Evans did.

30,000 people have signed an online petition against the signing of Ched Evans. I didn't know Oldham had that many supporters!

Do remember Lee Hughes coming off the bench for West Brom against Bradford, the following day he got charged for Death by Dangerous Driving. He received a very holistic reception which went into overdrive after he provided an assist for a late winner.

At some point Evans will play for a club.

It's just a case of someone saying to hell with what others think and if sponsors go then sponsors go.

It will happen but it will be a brave call.

Looks like terms have been agreed with Oldham.

Was she his girlfriend at the time of the rape, because it seems like an amazing gesture by her father to stump up the cash should any sponsors pull out.

I wouldn't have thought she was. Even if he didn't rape her, him being there would have been bad enough, if he was seeing someone, especially in a Dad's eye.

The BBC doing some investigative journalism for once (although entirely for the wrong reasons) by ringing up League One and League Two clubs whether they have been contacted by Evans' representatives about the potential for a trial or to sign the striker, and if they were what the likely response would be.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30698618

Notice how many clubs are keen to stay away from the witch hunt for football reasons, as opposed to actually signing Ched Evans.

Fair play to those who didn't want to be dragged into the debate.

Just pot-stirring. If they are not careful people will start feeling sorry for Evans.

I dont know, reading between the lines I think the majority of clubs in League Two seem to be saying, no he hasnt been offered, but we wish he would be? Or is it just me looking to much into the phrasings?
