Unless Essex collapse to under 250 all out which isn't looking likely right now as they are starting to motor. Worcs should be docked points for having a extremely dodgy bowler in their ranks for most of the season and being utterly pathetic in this last round of matches.

Had it not been for Shantry's once in a lifetime performance earlier this month, Worcs wouldn't even be in division one next season. Despite all of Ajmal's good work and the great position he left them in.

That is how much they rely on Ajmal. They are going to get destroyed next season.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Just curious after reading the Lancs thread, what year and what team was it that declared preventing us from winning the CC title due to bonus points or something along those lines?

Are you thinking of 2005 when Dave Fulton pretty much gave the title to Notts instead of Hants much to Shane Warne's fury.
I don't think Hampshire fans have yet forgiven Kent despite all the characters involved having now departed.

I'll keep him down at no.7 next season please. Plus I have thought for a long time that he's probably our best batsman at batting with the tail.

Not too bad batting with the top order today either! He just needs the small matter of 160 in the second innings to be our 4th to 1000 this season! If we go up, it will be in no small part to his performance in the last two games. :clap

BMB - Vince, Wood, Dawson & Briggs were all at Cardiff last night watching Bournemouth reach the 4th round of the League Cup for the first time in 51 (fifty one) years!
The team played so well up front (until Rantie came on!) with Pitman & Gosling (who has scored in all 3 rounds) that the league cup team looks stronger tghan the ;eague team!
Hope the weather doesn't ruin today - well except for Essex! :) The rain is pouring down atm in Dorset. :scared
I remember 4 years ago Notts scraped past Somerset (who've never won it) to the CC1 title by gamnbling on getting one bowling point in possibly less than 1 hour's bowling as rain had ruined their match & theu won the title on having won 1 more match than Somerset who had drawn their final match & had to hope that Notts would not get enough wickets which with the points for a draw meant Notts just did it.
Complicated computations are involved for Hants, Essex & Worcs atm yet the media (print & TV) has pitiful coverage. On Merian last night they managed to mention the Hants match without giving a score!!!

Yes, me and Brendy were discussing the Hants players going to the Bournemouth game on the football forum last night. I hadn't even made the Cardiff link.

Good start to the day, Coles bowls Bragg. We desperately need Tommo to rediscover his mojo in this game.

Anyone see Essex and Hants ending up on the same number of points? Nightmare.

Essex win the tie-break if that happens (I think).

I know, hence the nightmare scenario!

We need some wickets sharpish, maybe give Tahir a go early. First doubts that we will get promotion now starting to grow.

Bit of an iffy weather forecast on Friday morning at the moment. Hope that improves or we can finish the game Thursday which is a tad optimistic!

Its a shame we didn't get to 400 because I don't think Essex will get past 350 with overs running out and 6 down.
