Could be controversial if Essex are denied promotion due to pitch inspection/deduction. You can just see it dragging on to a post-season appeal.
Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Essex 5/1 after 3 overs although pitch not responsible as it was a run out unless the batsman slipped on the uneven surface!

Blimey it's a strange old day today. If Hampshire can get past 250, I don't think that Glammy will best that. Essex aren't likely to make a big score on that pitch.

Hampshire for promotion by 6 points.

At Old Trafford they have the lights on full blast and still they are off for bad light :dunno

Essex are pretty comfortable on 66/2 right now, so we can assume that Essex are odds on to win. That would mean Hants have to win to get promoted so if they get past 300 and take maximum bowling points then a win would mean promotion and the title. A long way to go yet though!

And Ervine again who helped plug the leaking wickets. A slug plug as it were.

Whatever happens this season the batsmen appear to have been heroes or failures with virtually none of them in between!

Not sure its looking very good yet. Essex are half way to victory in the other game means we have to win. Still got to make some more runs, take 20 wickets, and hope the weather forecast doesn't take a turn for the worse.

Last time I checked we were 60-5, just logged in to see this.... brilliant again by Slug and Vince, HOWEVER

It looks like we have to win the match. Hope the pitch is a result one.

Assuming Worcester are going to get stuffed. Are we now in the realms of either going up as champions (having won) or finishing 3rd?
