Haven't a clue what he's done since his two hundreds in the same game earlier in the season. On that performance alone I'm pleased he's now got his chance.

Will Smith is 15 runs away from passing 1k for the 1st time in his career, will be opening the batting with Jimmy too.

It'll be a great achievement for him.

Is Alsop really going to bat at number 7? Thought he might open with Adams. Maybe a bit of throwing him in at the deep end but it may be the making of him. Obviously if we're 350/5 when he comes in it would take the pressure off.

Looks like Essex will pickup max bowling points some time early afternoon. Lets hope the pitch is poor and not just Leics so that they attempt to make 400 is as difficult as possible.

Not a great morning for us to say the least. Lost the toss, apart from two early wickets, Kent now looking comfortable. Leics all at sea against Essex and only looks like one result in the game, and only interest will be how close to five batting points Essex get. Need Tahir to make some inroads this afternoon.

He's managed to get his first before lunch!

Good time to strike from Immy, need a 4th before they reach 100 though.

I never realised, Tahir has had MUCH more success with us than anyone else. 124 wickets for us ( before today ), his next best is 70 for the Titans.

Also his best batting of 77* was for us.

Come on, no wicket in the first hour after lunch and Kent are batting slowly but surely.

No early wickets in Essex innings.

When do we start getting the jitters?

We desperately need a wicket and preferably a collapse.

Can't see where its going to come from at the moment. A powder puff attack with Tomlinson right out of form and Tahir getting used to English conditions again.
