GET IN THERE!

Yorkshire beating Lancashire by an innings and 18 runs. Brilliant 2nd session new ball bowling from Brooks and Sidebottom to grind Lancashire down, with Adil Rashid picking up the key wicket of Khawaja.

Massive improvement from two years ago - not only Rashid has rediscovered his bowling magic but he is now turned into a genuine all rounder. To overcome the yips takes a lot of doing and hopefully there is no turning back.

It's only a matter of time before Rashid is back with the England squad, whether going to Sri Lanka, Oceania or West Indies.

Andrew Gale given a 2 match ban following an altercation with Lancashire's Ashwell Prince.

Not worth appealling to be honest given his recent discplinary record, just got to hope one of Root or Ballance or both are back for the Notts County Championship match.

Whilst I don't condone Gale's behaviour of foul and abusive language. It's ironic when the ECB issue a 2 match ban when they moved heaven and earth to avoid Jimmy Anderson receiving similar punishment by the ICC, hyprocisy at it's finest.

Must be more to it than that for the authorities to act so quickly and severely. Suspect he's either ignored a formal warning from the Umps or there's an element of racism in his comments.
If Root and Ballance are available then surely on merit Gale would have to be dropped anyway.

Gale has racked up points for showing dissent in the earlier Roses clash at Headingley and has previous for showing dissent at umpires. If it was racism I'd expect Gale to be fined, stripped of the captaincy and possibly sacked.

Apparently Root and Ballance are available according to Legsidelizzy on her twitter feed. Chances are they would replace Kane Williamson and Jack Leaning.

Is Williamson on his way? It'd be surprising if he was dropped. Anything on Bresnan and Plunkett?

Maybe have to revise my rather negative opinion of Adil Rashid's bowling.

Another flat Trent Bridge wicket might suit Yorks with all the batters available.

Williamson is playing Champions League T20 with Northern Districts and has played his final game for Yorkshire this season.

Apparently Bresnan got a niggle and was rested for the Lancashire game, Plunkett is aiming for full fitness against Notts.

I imagine the wicket will be similar to one in 2010, where Yorkshire dismissed Notts for 56 in the 1st innings and blew open the title race.

Agree racism would be a stackable offence. His early season offence accrues 6 pts with an automatic suspension for any further transgression-an accident waiting to happen given his previous.
