Abbott bowled eight wicketless overs for SA in their ODI win over Zim.

Two more ODIs against them to come, this side of Finals Day, before SA then start an ODI vs Aus just says after Finals Day.

If he goes wicketless in those other two ODIs, it'll be interesting if SA decide instead to cut Abbott (presumably the big guns will return to play Aus?) and therefore make him available for Finals Day.

Yes, but when you have the sort of bowling options that they do, you probably need to be that just economical (especially against the likes of Zim) to have any chance of forcing your way into the reckoning when they're at full strength.

Decent start this from Kent. I'd be starting to worry now if we'd declared at tea, and Kent were now about 360 from victory.

Gloucs lose their third wicket, but are almost there.

50 partnership up for Glammy, but surely in vain.

Raining again at Leicester.

Rain and finally bad light ended any chance of Surrey being angle to declare tonight. They now have a decision to make; is a lead of 324 sufficient enough to declare overnight, and get a full 96 overs at Leicester?

If they rather another 30 or 40 runs, then not only will that be about 5 overs of batting tomorrow morning, but also 2 overs will be taken out for the change of innings.

I think they should and will risk it by declaring, Leics are poor and winless.

Looks like they're going to have to. Just checked the forecast, and it's solid showers from 1pm through to about 8pm.

Fingers crossed the Leicester can bat out the first session.

But then again, the forecast also suggests that for us now!

Tomorrow had no rain predicted when I looked at lunchtime today!!

Looks like there should be a full days play tomorrow. Haven't been watching the game that closely with the test match on but itseems to me that the Canterbury pitch is getting easier to bat on as the game has progressed. Maybe down to how Dawson and Briggs get on tomorrow which will determine whether we can crucially win this game.
