I question what would of happened had it of been an Indian player starting on an Englishman.

I think what would have happened, had it been an Indian player starting on an English player, would have been various claims from both sides, charges made at various levels, one of the players would have been fined part of his match fee and then a judge would have been brought in to find them both not guilty.

I don't see much dirty play here, the judge genuinely thought he gave the correct verdict.

It's not common in the legal profession for nice fat fees to be turned down though, no matter how trivial the case.

Seems like a 'storm in a teacup' but if Anderson is being a pain then why don't others simply ignore him. Very effective in my experience.

Looking at the footage of the players walking off, Jadeja was trying to ignore Anderson, and Dhoni stationed himself in the middle of the two. But Anderson was following Jadeja, and once a push takes place, ignoring is no longer a choice.

I really don't see why a person should have to ignore verbal abuse anyway.

Pushing. But in response to Sir J's aggression. So in self defence. Of course, Jadeja's alleged aggression would have been provoked by Jimmy's offer to break his teeth/etc...

The attitude of the UK press seems to be the event was a trifle, rather than questioning what the actual events were.

I guess in most uk sports, a physical exchange would lead to a lengthy ban if it happpened on the pitch. Of the pitch, within reason it is ignored.
I don't think most people in the uk see it as a big deal.

Personally, I think the things that are out in the open, like Anderson's threats should have lead to punishment, whether or not the truth about the push can be divined. But really, the match ref could have sorted it out.

Well, when Joe Root was punched by Warner, it was made out into a big deal. It was outside the playing field, not sure how hard the punch was, certainly Root wasn’t bleeding, but everyone made a huge deal out of it. And Aus banned him, certainly didn’t protect him or defend him.
Anderson got away scott free. And Cook et al certainly didnt thik his behaviour was despicable.

So, jimmy told jadeja he was going to break his teeth, so Jadeja then pushed him. Therefore, Jimmy pushed him back? I know it's not right what Jimmy said, and to be fair, he does deserve a rap on the knuckles, but this sounds like kids stuff.

But it does go to disprove the point I made. I was thinking about scuffles in the tunnel before and after football games. Were there any repercussions for the ManU/Arsenal pizza incident?

Had Warner not been guilty of an unprovoked assault on Root, I reckon the Aussies would have defended him, not banned him.

Which tends towards the view that there is tolerance of off field confrontation. I guess the ref must have known.
