Do they have a batting coach? :dunno

Need another 100 runs at least from somewhere to make this into a decent game.

Praised Briggs and Daws and said that above mentioned scenario would be a good test for them both.

Perhaps Benks meant Hants would set a target of 100 odd with 60 overs left? :facepalm

Yes but unfortunately he's decided to retire from playing-rumoured to be returning to Durham next year as a player.

Time to start hitting everything, this game will not be ending in a draw.

From what I've heard, hes unhappy at not getting the coaching job, can't see him returning.

Ervine is digging in with 2 off 20 deliveries - obvious risk is that if he gets out hitting out Hants will crumble all out & set a pathetically low total.

Lead of 100, would think we need a MINIMUM of 150 to cause maybe a few problems, realistically 200 though.

After Tomlinson's 50 the other day we can say we bat all the way down. Plus Rimmington demonstrated from the first innings that he's got runs in him.

Ervine has 3 off 24 & Coles with 14 off 10 (2 fours & a six) is the one hitting out - if that is team tactics it seems a good idea as we can't afford to lose Slug as easily as Vince & co departed and the score board is ticking along.

Perhaps a first CC defeat of the season will act as a wake-up call as Hants have been poor in all forms for some time now but their good form early on - remember when we were top of both tables? - has rather concealed this fact as they have remained high up in the tables.

I guess Rimmington got all his runs in the first innings!

Australia needed 130 to win at Headingley in 1981 but only managed 111.
