His form slide also coincided with him being moved from 3 to 4.

Why did they move him? Seems daft to change something that was working so well.

I think they bought Saha in, and thats where he wanted to bat, not entirely sure...also his "form dip" wasn't nearly as bad as it looked, 1 of the games he didn't bat until the 16th over.

Abbott hits his 1st ball for 6

126-8 with 3 balls left, could be defendable.

Good last few balls - we've got to get early wickets to have any chance. However the commentators seem pretty confident of a Surrey win.

This game is proving to be a bit of a wake up call, thankfully coming in the middle of the group games.

Not uncommon to get one tonking in t20 each season. You can't compete in them all. And our record in general at the Oval (not just in t20) seems very poor.

And thankfully it happened in the group stage. When our batting failed against Surrey last season, it was at Finals Day. We couldn't recover from there, and all our gone work was gone. But here we can just pick ourselves up and go again next season.

Because it was just an all-round poor performance, I wont turn on the middle order this time. It was just a bad day at the office. But it is something we need to be careful of. The top three are not going to fire (even if it's just one of them) every single game.

And whilst it didn't work this time, at least we clearly have accepted that there's an issue with our middle order. Swapping Maxwell and Ervine around. Dropping Wheater and pushing Smith and Coles up the order.

Yes it didn't work, but at least we tried something different. But like I said after the Glamorgan game, Shah back into the team please.

A last ball victory in an apparently extremely exciting game.

Where has Rouse been hiding I wonder since being released by Hants?

He was highly rated by some who saw him play for the Seconds - could he have been the ideal alternative to Bates?

Anyway good luck to him - he & Howell were the top scorers for Glos last night.

That's the third time I've been to the Oval for T20 in recent years, and we have been stuffed each time! It's as if we choke on the big stage - the ground was almost full with very few Hants supporters, so it was pretty intimidating. Nevertheless, we were totally outplayed in every department.
Agree with Powelly that opening with Briggs was very odd. To my mind he succeeds when the batting side are looking to push on, not when they have time. Which has been his problem in the 4 day stuff. I really hope Smith's confidence has been damaged - the way Roy took his over for 24 was brutal - it was like watching a benefit match, with the pro choosing where to hit the next boundary for fun!
